NEVER REJECT THE GIFT OF REJECTION

I am sure I got your attention?
Oh! Did I hear you saying, "Tolu, you are really missing it! You are just plain funny with your positivity by calling rejection a gift. Rejection hurts too much to be good for me in any way."
Sure, I can relate to your viewpoint because I used to feel that way too. All I ask of you today is that you read through this note to the end, and contemplate the ideas I share. You just never know how your perspective might expand if you do.

Sometimes ago, I wrote about “Failure as a stepping stone to Success”, and one of my followers emailed me later asking, "How do I handle rejection?" He told me about the rejection he recently experienced then and how dejected he was. As I engaged him in private discussions, taking him out of his dejection, I decided that I should devote my time to put up an article on REJECTION since rejection is such a major and very common aspect of our daily and lifelong experience. It happens to almost all of us, doesn't it?

We experience it when we are young. Parents criticize us -- some may even walk out of our lives or force us out of theirs. Friends call us names on the playground and talk about us behind our backs. The deep sting of rejection continues into puberty as our boyfriends and girlfriends leave us. I'm sure

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF BEING AFRAID

'If you want to be successful, you just have to be willing to make a fool out of yourself”. Cristian Mihai.
Until you come to a point where you just don’t care about getting the approval of others, until you come to a point where you are not afraid of the pain of failure, you are not entirely free.
Unless you are willing to take a risk of being an embarrassment, you are not ready to succeed exceedingly. Great artists, creators, and entrepreneurs are men and women who placed themselves at the vulnerability of painful failure, ridicule, and embarrassment. They were ready for anything. As Helen Keller says, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”.

If you are still afraid of being afraid, you are not there yetIf you are still embarrassed about being embarrassed, you are not truly liberated. Being general and casual about life allows you to just be merely alive. You never blaze new traits, you never tread upon no go zones and push your own perceived limitations. You will die without ever having lived your life.
It is only

Against All Odds | A True Story of Courage, Hope & Leadership

Persistence and resilience can build a bridge between adversity and excellence. In this post, acclaimed success coach Irene Becker shares her personal leadership journey.

40th Birthday Marks Turning Point

My greatest challenge, and greatest life, leadership and success lesson began on my 40th birthday way I was thrust from the mountain of success into a very dark valley. My birthday represented a giant fork or rut in the road of my personal life and my career. It was a time when the gold I had created by the sweat of my brow had turned to dust. I had not done anything to justify what had occurred. My birthday came to pass far, far away from the success, financial security, social capital and material comforts I had worked so very hard to achieve and acquire.
I landed far, far, away from my former success as CEO of a successful multi-million dollar company, and the accoutrements of success I had taken for granted. I faced a life crucible, an event of nightmarish proportion, that took me from the mountain of success to ground zero where I had to start my life and my career again. While I had overcome incredible hurdles to build a formidable career, the hurdles that I faced on my

THE MOST INTERESTING THING IN THE WORLD

I have yet to meet a bird that is afraid of flying because it has an inferiority complex.
I have yet to meet a flower that is reluctant to blossom because it is uncertain about the beauty of its color.
I just imagine the sun hiding away because it feels like it is not sun enough to shine today.
Surprising as it is, I am sure there are many of us humans, reading this right now, doubting our sheer beauty. When you doubt your significance, you are actually doubting your very purpose of existence.

TREAT ME LIKE MONEY.

TREAT ME LIKE MONEY.

(the value of time)

Several times in my life, I have found money while walking down the street. The most I ever found was a five-niara note. That was exciting! Usually, it was a token or a dime. Sometimes I found money while watching my father's clothes or under a tree. Never have I 'found' twenty minutes or even ten minutes. Several times I have been given gifts of time when a doctor or someone else wasn't ready for me, and gave me a few minutes to read something while I waited for them.

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with #86,400, carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!

Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today.
